    • Awarded to a top junior cadet in the unit who excels in drill, dress and deportment.
  • Top Intermediate Cadet
    • Awarded to a top intermediate cadet in the unit who excels in drill, dress, and deportment.
  • Top Senior Cadet
    • Awarded to a top senior cadet in the unit who shows excellent leadership and excels in drill, dress and deportment.
  • Top Overall Cadet
    • Awarded to a cadet, of any rank, who the staff feel exemplifies all aspects of the Air Cadet Motto: To Learn, To Serve, To Advance
  • Top Flight
    • Awarded to the flight that has the best attendance, drill & dress for the training year.
  • Top Level 1
    • Awarded to the top cadet in level 1 who shows excellent leadership and excels in drill, dress and deportment.
  • Top Level 2
    • Awarded to the top cadet in level 2 who shows excellent leadership and excels in drill, dress and deportment.
  • Top Level 3
    • Awarded to the top cadet in level 3 who shows excellent leadership and excels in drill, dress and deportment.

  • Top Level 5/ALP
    • Awarded to the top cadet in level 5/ALP who shows excellent leadership and excels in drill, dress and deportment.
  • Top Fundraiser
    • Awarded to the cadet who raises the most money within that training year.
  • Top Gun Award
    • Awarded to the cadet who has shown they are the top marksman for the training year.
  • Most Improved Marksman
    • Awarded to the cadet who improves the most as a marksman for the training year.
  • Top Overall Bandsman
    • Awarded to the cadet who displays excellence within the band, showing leadership, skill, and a high standard of drill.
  • Top Overall Bandsman - Pipes and Drums
    • Awarded to the cadet who displays excellence within the band, showing leadership, skill, and a high standard of drill.
  • Most Improved Bandsman
    • Awarded to the cadet who improves the most with playing ability, confidence, and drill within the squadron band for the training year.
  • Most Improved Bandsman - Pipes and Drums
    • Awarded to the cadet who improves the most with playing ability, confidence, and drill within the squadron band for the training year.
  • Top Overall Drill Team Member
    • Awarded to the cadet who displays excellence within the drill team, showing leadership, skill, and a high standard of drill.
  • Top Overall Drill Team with Arms Member
    • Awarded to the cadet who displays excellence within the drill team with arms showing leadership, skill, and a high standard of drill.
  • Flying Scholarship Ground School Award
    • Awarded to the cadet with the highest mark on the Ground School Qualification Exam.
  • Squadron Public Speaking Award
    • Awarded to the cadet who placed first in the Squadron Public Speaking competition.
  • 62 Sqn Directors' Award
    • For going above and beyond enhancing sqn.
  • Murray Whetung Community Service Award
    • Awarded to a cadet by the Honours and Awards Secretariat of the Province of Ontario to recognize them for the support and enrichment they provide to their community with their commitment to the Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers Program.
  • Initiative Award
    • Awarded to a cadet who shows the most initiative in the Squadron to accomplish a goal by their own means without instruction.
  • Warrant Officer’s Sword of Distinction
    • Awarded to a cadet who shows potential to become a WO1 in the future.
  • NAG (Niagara Air Group) Battle of Britain Sword
    • Awarded to a Warrant Officer within the Niagara Air Group who, through a selection process, is deemed to be the top Warrant Officer within the Niagara Air Group.
  • Commanding Officers Award
    • Awarded to the top cadet of any rank, level within the unit who best embodies the 62 Squadron Motto Excellere Contende, Strive for Excellence; as seen by the Commanding Officer.

 

Medals

  • Air Cadet Service Medal
    • Awarded to deserving cadets who have completed four continuous years of honourable service with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. (Bars are added for each year completed above the base 4)
  • Lord Strathcona Medal
    • Awarded to a cadet in recognition of exemplary performance in physical and military training. The cadet must have a high level of physical fitness, complete minimum of 3 years as a cadet, have excellent attendance at both mandatory and optional training and finally be regarded by peers and supervisors as exemplifying the model cadet.
  • Royal Canadian Legion Medal of Excellence
    • Awarded to a cadet who exemplifies the model cadet who promotes goodwill, harmony, and morale within the squadron.  Must have met all mandatory training requirements, completed at least three community service activities, and finally be regarded by peers and supervisors as exemplifying the model cadet.
