WRO #10 AND Activities for the Week Ending Mon 18 Nov 2019
1. FRIDAY PARADE NIGHT – Regular Training Night – 09 Nov 19

NOTE: Cadets not able to attend are to call or text the Sqn cell phone 289-440-2641 and leave a message with their name and why they will not be at cadets.
2. REMEMBRANCE WEEK ACTIVITIES – OP LEST WE FORGET
This weekend sees our Remembrance Day parades and the 18hr Vigil, as well as other additional activities. These activities range from serving meals to the veterans at the Annual Veterans Dinner, Legion Grounds Clean-ups, Poppy Sales, and the 4 parades we support. The detailed Warning Order is attached.
Sign-up sheets are still located on the table at the back of the hall – a reminder that all cadets must complete 3 poppy sales sessions and one parade.
Information for the upcoming Legion ground clean-ups will be out soon.
3. OPEN DRILL NIGHT
12 Nov 19 will be open drill for the entire squadron. We would love to see as many come out as possible to work on drill and play some fun drill games.
4. SUMMER TRAINING
Last week, summer training selections were done by cadets at the squadron. If you DID NOT attend cadets last week please see OCdt Fry this Friday – even if you don’t intend on going to camp this summer. Additionally, any information regarding summer camp courses being offered can be found in last week’s WRO (#8).
5. LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP – 23 NOV 19
830 – 1630hrs This is a day of instruction for 3rd year and senior cadets from all units/elements in Niagara to take advance classes that support/augment leadership knowledge and ability. If you are able to attend or would like more information, please email training at email@example.com or talk to training staff on a Friday Night.

6. INSTRUCTION WORKSHOP – 30 NOV 19
830 – 1630 hrs This is a day of instruction for 3rd year and senior cadets to take advance classes that support/augment instruction knowledge and ability. If you are able to attend please email training at firstname.lastname@example.org or talk to training staff on a Friday Night.

7. POSITIVE SOCIAL RELATIONS FOR YOUTH TRAINING
All Level 4 cadets, mark your calendars! Saturday, 16 Nov 19 0830 is your PSRY training at the MRCC as detailed by the Level 4 QSP. This is mandatory training for all level 4 cadets.
All Level 1 cadets, also mark your calendars! Saturday, 23 Nov 0830 is your PSRY training at the MRCC as detailed by your Level 1 Qualification Standard and Plan. This is also mandatory training for all level 1 cadets.
8. MARCH BREAK TRIP 2019
A rough itinerary of the previous March Break Trip has been attached to this week’s WRO, and the confirmed dates for this year’s trip to Washington, DC are 14-19 March 2020. The first deposit of $200 is due at the end of the month.

9. SQUADRON 6TH ANNUAL FUNDRAISER DINNER/DANCE – 23 NOV 19
This ADULTS ONLY event will be taking place at the MRCC on Sat 23 Nov 2019 from 1830 to 0000hrs. The last date to purchase tickets will be THIS FRIDAY as the numbers need to be sent to the caterer. Tickets are $30 in advance and tickets will not be sold at the door. This event is not restricted to the Squadron and is open to the public at large.
Supply will be ordering nametags for the squadron this week.
New recruits: you will be receiving your first name tag free of charge. Please take good care of your first name tag. If you lose/damage your name tag you will be charged $5 for a replacement. Nametags are a required part of your uniform. If you wish to order an additional nametag for $5 please see the SupO.
Remainder of the squadron: if you wish to order an additional nametag the cost is $5 each. You may order your own name or a nickname (as long as it isn’t offensive, and take note you may not wear your nickname on your uniform). Please see the SupO if you wish to order an additional nametag.
If you asked for a nametag and your name is not on this list please contact the SupO (OCdt Hannus) ASAP at 905-328-8752 to have your name placed on the list. Here is the list of cadets who need a nametag: Orlando, Ferretti, O’Brien, Lewis, Price, Files, Fry, Hernandez, D’Alessio, Tenhulscher, MacGregor, Araiche.
11. COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS REPORTING AND RECORDING
OCdt Hannus is the OIC of verifying and validating high school volunteer hours. Please see the attached document for detailed instructions on how to submit your request for volunteer hours. Please do not submit your request for any volunteer hours until after Tuesday, 17 Dec 19 (the date of the GBF Food Move). You will compile all your volunteer hours onto one sheet and submit them as a group. This is so OCdt Hannus does not receive multiple requests from each cadet every time there is a poppy session, Remembrance Day parade, etc.
12. WARRANT OFFICER 2ND CLASS MERIT REVIEW BOARDS – DATE SAT 16 NOV
A detailed email was sent out to all FSgts this past week regarding the WO2 Merit Review Board. If any FSgt did not receive and email, please advise the Board Assistant – OCdt Fry ASAP at email@example.com.

Did you know?
Any empty alcohol containers from parents can be donated to the Sqn – just drop them off next to the telephone booth by the coat room and we will return to the Beer Store. Also, 62 collects Canadian Tire money! (You know, the old CT bills that collect in the bottom of your junk drawers?) This donation helps the squadron purchase any number of items and is very much appreciated.
