1. Regular Training Night – FRIDAY 26 October 2018
This Friday Night we will be visited by the Area Zone Training Officer representing the Commanding Officer Central Region Cadets. It is requested that all cadets make an effort to be present at the squadron this Friday. Captain Stacey will be visiting the various classrooms, and talking with cadets throughout the night. Please make him feel welcome to the Squadron.
LOST AND FOUND FTX – at the back of the parade square this Friday we will have all the items which were left behind from the FTX. If you are missing something it may be neatly folded at the back. Please try and pick up your belongings this Friday. Any remaining evening at closing parade is very special for one of our adult staff. Mrs. Jennifer Gardner had applied over a year ago to become an officer in the Canadian Forces to work with cadets. This evening we will be swearing her in as OCdt Gardner. The Attestation Ceremony will start approximately 21:05 hours with closing parade.

2. FLYING SCHOLARSHIP CLASSES THIS WEEK – WED CANCELLED – NO TEST SAT
Attention all Scholarship Cadets, due to the need for the Band to practice in advance of their performance in front of the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario both Friday and Saturday and the amount of band members in Ground School; Class scheduled for Wednesday has been cancelled.
While we have busy weekend ahead of us, we will still have Ground School as scheduled this coming Saturday, however we will move the scheduled test to a later date so that we can cover the material missed on Wednesday.
Please keep in mind that we have the Poppy Campaign this Weekend so your assistance in the Afternoon if available is appreciated.
3. SQUADRON SUPPLY NOTES:
PARKA VALIDATION – We started this validation last Friday with only half the squadron bringing in their parkas due in part to late notification. We will continue with our Parka Validation this Friday. Those that did not validate their parka last week, it is imperative that you do so this Friday. With winter coming upon us and Remembrance Day activities coming up over the coming weeks with outdoor items, we need to make sure that it fits correctly and in Good Order. Upon arrival, you and your parka are to report directly to supply.
NAME TAGS – While Supply was compiling a list to order name tags for the end of this week so we had them for Remembrance Day; the list somehow has disappeared from supply. We are asking that all cadets who are without a Name Tag or an incorrectly spelled name tag to see supply this Friday Night
Uniform Exchanges – you will be in the public eye in the coming weeks, if something does not fit just right, is too small, or stained and cannot be cleaned, please see supply to get the matter
taken care of. It was noticed last week at a glance, there are several cadets with pants that are too short.
4. MASS BAND – LT GOV OF ONT AND ACL AGM IN TORONTO 26 & 27 OCT
I think that we can all say that we are so very proud of our squadron band being selected to perform and play at the Ontario Provincial Committee of the Air Cadet League of Canada’s Annual General Meeting this Friday and Saturday Night. Those Requested to be Parent Drivers: The Squadron has decided to rent a bus on both days for the 2 trips to the conference on Fri and Sat. Thank you so much to those drivers for your willingness to help out.
